Now if you are standing there and there is nothing going on with the mower then check the spark plug. First check to see that the spark plug is attached. Many times the connector on the spark plug will come loose and cause the mower to not run at all. Next try looking to see if the spark plug may need to be changed, It is a excellent idea that you change the spark plug on a regular basis, a good rule of thumb is to have this changed once a year before you mow the lawn for the first time for the year.

If you are encountering the problem of the mower quitting and getting bogged down then you will need to see if the grass is either too tall or too wet to be mowed. Many times a push mower will not function properly if the grass is wet. This is caused by the grass becoming clumped underneath the push mower and causing the blade to stop turning. This can be fixed by cleaning the clumped grass out and allowing the rest of the yard to dry thoroughly before you commence mowing again.

If the grass is coming out the side of the lawn mower then you are suffering from a bag that is full. This can be fixed simply by emptying the bag on a regular basis.
